Barnes International, a global smart card test tool leader and supplier to Banks, Issuers, Card Manufacturers, Personalization Bureaux and Test Laboratories, today announced they will be speaking and exhibiting at CARTES America, taking place May 13-15 2014 at The Mirage, Las Vegas. This conference attracts over 2000 decision makers who convene for 3 days to learn about developments in Security, Mobile and advanced payments, and EMV deployment.

Visitors to the Barnes booth (#1609) will be able to see demonstrations of Barnes solutions, which include magnetic stripe analyzers and EMV chip test tools. They are used worldwide by card manufacturers and test laboratories to ensure the development and manufacture of high-quality contact, contactless and dual interface cards and mobile payment applications, which meet ISO, CQM and EMV requirements.

Card quality assurance is one of the reasons why banks, issuers and personalization bureaus choose Barnes, but they have the added requirement to ensure their chip debit and credit cards and mobile payment products meet the requirements of their chosen payment scheme, such as American Express, Discover, MasterCard or Visa.

Barnes also offers EMV migration training and consultancy. This has been used by financial institutions worldwide to enhance their knowledge, and focuses on the decision making involved in defining parameters for the cards being migrated to EMV as well as fully understanding the whole EMV transaction flow and environment.

Brian Summerhayes, Managing Director, Barnes International will be speaking on Tuesday, May 13 at 2.30 about EMV and card testing. With banks in the US in the early stages of EMV migration, this presentation will clarify the necessity for EMV card testing, and highlight the benefits that testing can bring to a bank’s card business. It will outline the various types of card testing and provide practical guidance from experience of rolling out EMV migration programs in the US and other regions of the world.

Brian comments: “We expect CARTES America will be dominated by talk about how the US advances towards a more secure payment infrastructure. With our experience in supporting financial institutions as they move to EMV, we look forward to showcasing ways in which we can help deliver quality-assured and payment scheme accredited EMV card programs”.
