MINNETONKA, Minn.(Jan. 6, 2015)—Entrust Datacard today announced the availability of the Datacard® EMV Personalization Validation software that is designed to validate the chip of every EMV card issued on a Datacard® MX Series card issuance system.  Using Barnes International’s smart card verification technology; this inline automated process helps increase production efficiencies and increases peace of mind for financial institutions.

This new EMV Personalization Validation software complements the entire Datacard quality assurance portfolio – which includes the Datacard® MX Series Quality Assurance Module and the Datacard® Vision Verification Module.  This seamless integration of the software and modules with Barnes test scenarios gives financial organizations and card bureaus the ability to easily validate each card that passes through the MX Series Platform from beginning-to-end to confirm accuracy and quality.

“This is an important addition to our complete quality assurance portfolio, especially as EMV programs are growing and more financial organizations are adding smart cards to their card programs,” said Dan Good, vice president of central issuance and service product management for Entrust Datacard.  “It’s very important that we continue to offer our customers innovations that protect their overall investments, and this is another solution that does just that.  As EMV card issuance grows, having inline verification of all smart cards will create a more efficient process, improve the quality of cards that are issued, save time and money, and ultimately streamline operations.”

The EMV Personalization Validation software includes a combination of features that support both contact and contactless chips and seamlessly integrates with the Datacard® MX8100TM, MX6100TM and MX2100TM card issuance systems and existing Datacard® software applications.   In addition, this is one of the first inline integrations of smart card verification technology in a card personalization system today; it shares scenarios with existing stand-alone Barnes CPT 3000v3 tools to audit each chip.

Entrust Datacard invented secure, high-volume card personalization more than 40 years ago and helped make secure, high-volume issuance of credit and debit cards, health care IDs and government credentials possible. Today, there are more than 4,000 Datacard central issuance systems deployed globally producing financial cards and secure IDs.
