		In order to remain up to date with the latest requirements from EMV and the payment scheme operators, as well to take advantage of Barnes' ongoing development, it is essential to upgrade to the latest software.  Please note that only current software is supported by Barnes International Ltd. NB. CPT/CAT 2000 and 3000 v1 and v2 Users.  This upgrade is only for users already running CPT/CAT 3000v3,   Contact Barnes for details of upgrading to CPT/CAT 3000v3. Versions Please note that the EMV test scripts and the CPT/CAT 3000v3 application are updated separately, due to the dynamic nature of the chip card industry the test scripts require updating more frequently than the test tool itself. The version number of the application is shown on the title bar of the main screen and in the "Help/About" information.  Help/About also shows the release level of the installed test scripts. Currently the test tool application is at version 3.15 and the EMV test scripts are at release 5.1. Downloads The software updates are contained in Barnes proprietary format package installer files (extension .bip), which must be extracted from the downloaded zip file (no password necessary).  The "bip" files can only be opened by an installed and licensed CPT/CAT 3000v3 system.  Instructions for the use of these files will be found in the user manual and in-context help files. Note that the same update package is used for both CPT3000v3 and CAT3000v3, it will configure itself automatically according to the existing installation.  It is very important to ensure that you have the latest versions of both the CPT Update and the EMV Test Scripts.  EMV Test Scripts update includes the latest scripts for EMV 4.1, MasterCard M/Chip, PayPass, Visa VSDC, qVSDC, Interac and Discover card applications.
